MOONSPELL Nominated For MTV's 'Best Portuguese Act' Award
September 19, 2006According to a posting on MOONSPELL's official web site, the band has been nominated in the "Best Portuguese Act" category at the MTV awards. "Tomorrow [Tuesday, Sept. 19] there will be a press conference where MTV is going announce it," the posting reads. "It's the first time a metal or heavy rock is distinguished as candidate for the prize, which for us is already an honour."
MOONSPELL's latest album, "Memorial", was released in April via SPV Records. The CD was recorded at Woodhouse Studios in Hagen, Germany with producer Waldemar Sorychta (LACUNA COIL, TIAMAT, GRIP INC.). A DVD, entitled "Lunar Still/13 Years of Doom", is expected to surface via Century Media in 2007.
MOONSPELL will embark on their first North American headlining tour in five years beginning in late October. Supporting MOONSPELL on the appropriately labeled "Nocturnal Mourning" tour are KATATONIA and DAYLIGHT DIES.
